Q and A with Mikey from Radioactive Records

1. Name, Age, Occupation?
Mikey Ramirez, 29, record store shot caller.

2. Were do you live?
Fort Lauderdale, Florida

3. What are you riding these days?
Schwinn Cutter. All components are stock. I'm a very casual rider (i.e.-work, around town, health reasons) so the cutter suits me just fine.

4. Tell us about Radioactive Records.
South Florida's largest independent record store and concert venue.

5. What is the connection with an independent record store, and bicycles?
They are both misunderstood lifestyles/hobbies/etc. They share a common link with culture that is considered outside of the box.

6. Radioactive Records, hosted the after party for Call To Cranks. Tell us how that went?
I wasn't there but from the reports it sounded like a great event. Only problem is some of you bicyclists need to bathe more frequently.

7. What is the one thing that Mikey cant stand? And what would you do to change it?
One thing? That's not fair. As far as what's bothering me right now? Bad attitudes. I can't stand bad attitudes and rudeness. How would I change it? All depends on the person. Most people need a discussion or a punch in the face.

8. Favorite beer?
Imported.

9. Who does it better? Depeche Mode or Joy Division? Quicksand or Rival Schools? Hmm. Tough one. Joy Division & Depeche Mode are very important bands to me and very different at the same time. I can definitely vote for Quicksand over Rival Schools though.

10. What can we expect to see new at Radioactive Records in the future?
More records, more concerts, a coffee bar & whatever else we can think of!

A change of pace with this weeks Q and A. Mikey and Radioactive Records hold down the South Florida independent music scene. If your looking for hard to find vinyl, or any underground DIY music check them out. If they don't have it, they will get it. They also have shows FREE shows every week with local South Florida and touring bands.
